The Old Police Headquarters
The Old Police Headquarters was built in 1939 and listed on The National Register of Historic Places. In keeping with its legacy as a landmark of San Diego culture, this reincarnated icon has become “The Headquarters”. An exciting new shopping and dining destination along the waterfront. The open-air shopping center is home to an exclusive collection of specialty shops and world-class restaurants. The Headquarters is home to over an acre of lush urban gardens and landscaped plazas, professionally designed to create a resonating sense of place to linger and enjoy.
While at The Headquarters, be sure to explore the fully restored 8 cell jail block which houses historic photos and police memorabilia. Don’t forget to snap a photo at the lineup wall. This is one time you’ll have fun going to jail!
Just across from The Headquarters is Seaport Village. At Seaport Village, shopping becomes an experience to delight all the senses! Located next to the San Diego Big Bay you’ll enjoy cool ocean breezes and a lovely view of the harbor, filled with sailboats and yachts.
