NOEL NOEL – SAN DIEGO SYMPHONY AT THE RADY SHELL
This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, audiences will experience the return of Noel as she and her friends search for Santa and the magic that he brings with the season. New to this year’s performance at the Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, will be featured guest vocalist Devin DeSantis. It’s a program full of Christmas classics, sing-alongs, holiday cheer, and jolly spirit. The concert will be led once again by the artistic tour-de-force team consisting of celebrated guest conductor Christopher Dragon and Director Jonathan Gilmer. Read more.
GASLAMP QUARTER HOLIDAY PET PARADE
Get ready for a pawsitively howlin’ good time this Saturday, December 16th as the Gaslamp Quarter transforms into a holiday wonderland filled with the merry jingles of furry friends! ‘Tis the season for San Diego’s heartwarming tradition – the 15th Annual Gaslamp Quarter Holiday Pet Parade and Pups in the Pub Party! After the parade Enjoy craft beers, holiday tunes, treats, holiday costume contest results, pups and peeps games, and lots of pup-tastic fun at the Gaslamp Quarter Hilton Hotel. Read more.
HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS AT THE OLD GLOBE
Now playing at the Old Globe Theater in Balboa Park is the ever-popular Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The production will run from November 8 to December 31, 2022. Every Who down in Who-ville liked Christmas a lot . . . but the Grinch, who lived just north of Who-ville, did NOT! In this live-action adaptation of the beloved children’s tale by Dr. Seuss, the reclusive green Grinch decides to ruin Christmas for the cheery citizens of Whoville. THE NUTCRACKER – SAN DIEGO BALLET
This Saturday, December 16th, at the Magnolia Theater in El Cajon, the San Diego Ballet brings America’s favorite holiday event to dazzling life. The Nutcracker features Tchaikovsky’s timeless score and an international cast of more than 100 beautifully costumed dancers. Sugarplum fairies, leaping Cossacks, and flurries of snowflakes swirl across the stage, in this magical journey through a young girl’s imagination. Read More
SAN DIEGO HOLIDAY HALF MARATHON
This Saturday, December 16th, is the 11th Annual San Diego Holiday Half Marathon. The San Diego Holiday Half Marathon is a fast 13.1-mile course that starts on Penasquitos Drive and Carmel Mountain Road, then travels SW along Carmel Mountain Road, along the 56 bike path, and finishes at the beautiful Torrey Pines State Beach. The race includes a 711-foot net elevation drop along the “rolling” downhill bike path, which also makes it a personal best candidate. This popular winter half has been a sell-out event every year and is sure to sell out for 2023. Get your end-of-the-year PR!!! More.
