DECEMBER NIGHTS
December Nights is back on Friday, December 6th, from 3 PM to 11 PM and Saturday, December 7th, from 11 AM to 11 PM. Join us for the largest free holiday festival in Balboa Park, hosted by the City of San Diego. This event is perfect for families and brings the community together to enjoy the festive atmosphere, including dazzling lights, musical performances, exciting attractions, and delicious food. ENCINITAS HOLIDAY PARADE
On one of the most enchanting nights of the year, nearly one hundred parade participants will travel down the Coast Highway by rolling, marching, cycling, scooting, and cruising. The Encinitas Holiday Parade is this Saturday, December 7th. Celebrate the holiday season, with thousands of spectators cheering on the floats and bands while the Encinitas Holiday Parade makes its way along Coast Highway 101. The parade will commence at 5:30 PM, preceded by a tree lighting ceremony at 5:00 PM. where Santa will make a brief appearance in the Lumberyard Shops courtyard. Read More
OB HOLIDAY PARADE
On Saturday, December 7th at 5 PM the greatly anticipated 45th annual OB Holiday Parade on Newport Avenue will be held. The parade, with the theme of “Hippie Holiday Hoedown,” promises to be a festive event that celebrates the spirit of the community and showcases creativity. The procession will showcase a variety of colorful floats that are consistently one-of-a-kind, featuring a mix of local musicians, and community groups such as the OB Woman’s Club commemorating their centennial, small businesses, scout troops, and diverse teams of golf carts. HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS
Now playing at the Old Globe Theater in Balboa Park is the ever-popular Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The production will run from November 6TH to December 31ST. Every Who down in Who-ville liked Christmas a lot . . . but the Grinch, who lived just north of Who-ville, did NOT! In this live-action adaptation of the beloved children’s tale by Dr. Seuss, the reclusive green Grinch decides to ruin Christmas for the cheery citizens of Whoville. The Grinch comes down from his mountaintop home and sneaks into town to swipe everything holiday-related from the Whos. Read More.
LA JOLLA CHRISTMAS PARADE & HOLIDAY FESTIVAL
Celebrate the start of the festive season this Saturday, December 8th, at the 68th edition of the La Jolla Christmas Parade and Holiday Festival. Festivities will begin at 11:30 am with the opening of the Holiday Festival, located on Wall Street between Girard and the Athenaeum Alley. The Christmas Parade will start at Kline and Girard at 1:30 pm. This event is in the main commercial district of La Jolla. There is a wide variety of restaurants, cafes, and snack bars that will be pleased to serve you. Read more
