The 52nd edition of the Barona Pow Wow is scheduled to take place at the Barona Sports Complex in Lakeside from August 30th to September 1st. This event is a long-standing Native American custom that unites various tribes and communities. Pow Wows are vibrant cultural festivities that feature traditional activities such as dancing, singing, socializing, crafting, art displays, and culinary delights. TCHAIKOVSKY SPECTACULAR AT RADY SHELL

Rady Shell at Jacobs Park

Rafael Payare will lead the San Diego Symphony Orchestra in their final classical concert of the 2024 Summer Season at Jacobs Park. The performance will showcase Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto, with a special solo by Blake Pouliot. The event is scheduled for Friday, August 30th, and will conclude with the beloved 1812 Overture, accompanied by the signature pyrotechnics at The Rady Shell in Jacobs Park. Read More

 

 

BALBOA PARK 4 MILER

Things To Do This Week in San Diego August 26th - September 1st
Balboa Park 4 Miler

The 59th edition of the Tom Bache Balboa Park 4-Miler will take place on Saturday, August 31, 2024. The race will begin at 7:30 am for Masters participants who are 40 years old and above. The race route begins and ends at the northern part of 6th and Laurel in Balboa Park. It is a demanding course that includes a mix of trails, grass, and sidewalks. The competition is divided into Female and Male categories, with age groups of 12 and under, 13-18, 19-24, and then 5-year increments up to 80 and above.  Read More.

 

 

DEL MAR RACING SEASON

Del Mar Pacific Classic

The Del Mar Thoroughbred Club 2024 summer racing season will run from Saturday, July 20th through Sunday, September 8th. Del Mar’s richest and most prestigious race, the Grade FanDuel Racing Pacific Classic, takes place this Saturday, August 31st. The First race will start at 1:30 PM. The winner of this race will automatically be included in the Breeders Cup Classic which will be held on Saturday, November 2nd.    Read More
