The picturesque streets by the bay in downtown San Diego will be bustling with the Port of San Diego Holiday Bowl Parade presented by Kaiser Permanente! A well-established custom of the Holiday Bowl, this thrilling event for all ages showcases top-notch marching bands, impressive floats, captivating drill teams, and a procession of larger-than-life balloons – more than any other parade! The Fourth Annual Snapdragon Bowl Bash will be held in the Gaslamp Quarter of downtown San Diego during the DIRECTV Holiday Bowl. This lively event is a chance for both fans and residents of San Diego to come together and enjoy free family entertainment, delicious food, live music, and exciting giveaways. BOARDED! STAGED ABOARD A 16TH-CENTURY SHIP!
Embark on an exciting new pirate journey with BOARDED!, a production by San Diego Pirate Adventures featuring the Maritime Museum of San Diego’s famous vessel, the “San Salvador.” Audience members will be fully immersed in pirate theatrics both on land and at sea in San Diego Bay. Participants will have the opportunity to join the ship’s crew, learn navigation techniques, engage in sword fights, bail water from a sinking ship, escape from the King’s Jail, swab the deck, and master other essential pirate skills. HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS
Now playing at the Old Globe Theater in Balboa Park is the ever-popular Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The production will run from November 6TH to December 31ST. Every Who down in Who-ville liked Christmas a lot . . . but the Grinch, who lived just north of Who-ville, did NOT! In this live-action adaptation of the beloved children’s tale by Dr. Seuss, the reclusive green Grinch decides to ruin Christmas for the cheery citizens of Whoville. The Grinch comes down from his mountaintop home and sneaks into town to swipe everything holiday-related from the Whos. Read More.
DIRECT TV HOLIDAY BOWL
The Direct TV Holiday Bowl is always a tightly contested football game and this year appears to be more of the same with #21 Syracuse (9-3) vs Washington State (8-4). The game is this Friday at Snapdragon Stadium; some tickets are still available. The Pregame Show features heart-pounding performances by both university marching bands, spectacular pageantry, parachute jumpers, and of course, it wouldn’t be the DIRECTV Holiday Bowl without The Big Flag, the football field size American Flag.
