Jane will be paying tribute to the great Ella Fitzgerald in our main salon for our annual winter fundraiser.
Jane Monheit blessed with “a voice of phenomenal beauty” (Stephen Holden, New York Times), has had plenty of milestone moments in establishing herself as one of today’s best and most important vocalist-musicians. She has collaborated with John Pizzarelli, Michael Bublé, Ivan Lins, Terence Blanchard and Tom Harrell, and has received Grammy nominations for two of her recordings. Jane’s debut album, Never Never Land, featuring Kenny Barron, Ron Carter, and Lewis Nash was the first of four recordings for N-Coded, and voted Best Recording Debut by the Jazz Journalists Association and stayed on the Billboard jazz chart for a year. With her new album, The Songbook Sessions: Ella Fitzgerald on Emerald City Records, Monheit pays a joyous tribute to Ella and will be sharing this music at Casa Romantica.
