On Saturday, August 17th, the San Diego Model Museum will host a special event featuring Thomas and his friends from the Isle of Sodor. From 10 AM to 4 PM, visitors can join the fun with various activities centered around Thomas the Tank Engine. These include a scavenger hunt around the museum, with Thomas trains running on the layouts, as well as arts and crafts inspired by Thomas. In 2022, the tournament was given a new name to honor our valued friend and Board Member, Dick Lareau. On Sunday, August 18th, In Motion Events presents a Half Marathon starting at 6:15 AM and a 5K starting at 6:10 AM. This is San Diego’s most beautiful half marathon, where runners will start at the Cabrillo National Monument on Point Loma and continue along San Diego Bay, Harbor Island, and Embarcadero, passing by the Star of India, before finishing in Balboa Park.
