The Marston House
Just North of Balboa Park stands the beautiful and historic Marston House. Built in 1905 for George White and Anna Gunn Marston, this grand old home stands as a wonderful tribute to a unique family and their legacy of service to the San Diego community. The grounds feature a museum, formal gardens, canyon gardens, planned cultural landscape, and museum store.
The house and gardens are listed on the National Register of Historic Places for Architecture and Landscape Architecture, reflecting the transitional Craftsman Prairie Style of the early 20th century. Visit the Marston House and wander around the gardens as you marvel at the impressive architecture, or choose from one of three guided tours – Marston House, Garden Tour and Historic Seventh Avenue. The house is located 3525 Seventh Avenue and is open Friday through Monday from 10am to 5pm. (619) 297-9327. www.sohosandiego.org Mass Transit Route #7
