Oceanside Museum Of Art
Located in downtown Oceanside, the Oceanside Museum of Art is housed in side-by-side buildings designed by two of southern California’s most renowned Modernist architects. The classic Irving Gill-designed building, representing the flavor of 1930s Southern California, is nestled against the contemporary Frederick Fisher-designed Central Pavilion, creating a perfect union of past and present architecture. The Museum presents five provocative and contemporary exhibitions each year designed to showcase the finest art of regional and international artists. The progressive schedule has seen classic landscape paintings to studio furniture, neon sculpture to art quilts, architectural glass to a current showing of the Lazar Collection of Combs From Asia, Africa and Oceania. In addition, OMA also offers concerts, films, lectures, docent tours and the OMA Museum Store. Overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the historic Oceanside Pier, this cultural jewel is a gathering place to meet and share the rich cultural experiences available in the region.
