Jump Back In Time
Recognized as the birthplace of California, Old Town San Diego has plenty of cultural enrichment to go around. This unique town offers visitors a chance to step back in time to the 19 Century and is a haven for wonderful shopping, fine dining and festive live music. Rich with history, the State Historic Park preserves some of Old Town’s most historic buildings where you can journey through San Diego’s past from 1821-1872. There are over 15 historical sites in all, including California’s first schoolhouse, a blacksmith shop, a stable, and the state’s first newspaper office.
One of the most notable sites, the Whaley House, is said to be the most haunted house in the United States. Opened as a museum in 1960, the house has been featured in endless publications and gained attention from numerous television programs such as the Travel Channel’s America’s Most Haunted.
