House of Blues

The House of Blues in San Diego is one of 13 locations throughout the United States. The San Diego location is famous for its “Bead Wall” made of Mardi Gras beads from the heart of New Orleans. With live music almost every night of the week, you can pretty much enjoy the vibe anytime. However, the music isn’t the only vibe you can feel at this popular venue.
What makes the House of Blues unique from other venues is the homage it pays to the roots of its existence. Each location is equipped with “crazy quilt” curtains and a metal box of mud from Delta, Mississippi under the stage, yes, mud under the stage! The reason for this is so that each performer has the “roots and spirit of the south” beneath their feet to honor those who used the Underground Railroad to find freedom. After all it is the blues, rhythm and jazz that inspired the House of Blues.
Between the music and the story of the House of Blues you will leave this popular venue with goose bumps!
