View of downtown San Diego. Had to wrap my camera around my wrist and stick it out the hotel window to get a shot without the reflection. Glad it didn't fall. Whew!

The big waves hit La Jolla a couple of weeks ago. I took this picture near sunset at Children's Pool. This is one of most beautiful places in San Diego.

Autumn skies in San Diego. Photo was taken at a secret spot at blacks beach overlooking the ocean horizon, blanketed by blue skies and a sea of clouds. When I think of California this is what comes to my eyes.

My husband & I were taking a mini vacation & went to go visit Cabrillo National Monument but noticed it was closed so drove by Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. He is an active duty marine who was getting ready to deploy & told me that he put down Fort Rosecrans as his final resting place if anything should happen to him. After taking this picture I knew why he chose this place, just really peaceful and serene.

On Oct 16 2011 , there was a wonderful street performance in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month on West Island Avenue, San Diego. The pictures which I have taken are from the Salsa dance performance of Alma Latina Dance Group who is ranked 5th in the ESPN World Salsa Championships. I have captured both the feel of Salsa feel and the speed of dancers. I have caught both the moment and the delicacy of the dance.

Alma Latina Dance School

"Into the Abyss"
Taken: IB Pier
Imperial Beach, Ca.
It only took about 10 minutes for this fog to roll in and consume half of the pier. It is very creepy but also mysteriously beautiful at the same time.

This was taken on a hike in Yosemite. I found an old tree and thought that it would make an interesting foreground.

A massive power outage - all the way from Arizona to the Mexico border - plunged San Diego into complete darkness. This event had a "rare photo opportunity" written all over it. A seemingly "unusually" bright moon and a forecast for cloudy skies presented a small window of opportunity to photograph star trails - and that too from a location that is usually so brightly lit that you would be hard pressed to see any starts at all.
I wanted to capture start trails behind some famous landmark in San Diego - but all traffic lights were off at all intersections into 4-way stops - it was way too risky to venture outside at night. I settled on capturing a normal cityscape - a rare foreground for a star-trails shot.
