We’ve come up with a few suggestions on how and where to get some fabulous views of San Diego!
To start with, there is nothing quite like a drive on the 101 Highway, Scenic Drive, which weaves through San Diego from Oceanside down to La Jolla.  A great starting point is Oceanside Harbor where you’ll find some delightful shops and restaurants.  From there just head south on 101, or coast highway, and get ready for one of the most beautiful rides in the country!

Once you’ve reach La Jolla it’s just a short ride up to one of San Diego’s more recognizable landmarks, Mt. Soledad.
A peaceful oasis, Mt. Soledad is a serene spot with breathtaking views of San Diego and the coastline. Located between La Jolla and Pacific Beach, Mt. Soledad has attracted hikers, cyclists, and those in search of the ideal view for decades.

Atop the 822 foot mountain stands a 29-foot tall cross, the Veterans Memorial, that has made the mountain famous. More than 2,400 black granite plaques surround the cross, displaying photos, names and stories of American servicemen and women. The memorial was originally a tribute to Korean War veterans and it now honors veterans from other foreign wars and conflicts.

Let’s get our feet back firmly on terra firma and head over to Mission Trails Regional Park.  The park encompasses nearly 5,800 acres of both natural and developed recreational acres. Its rugged hills, valleys and open areas represent a San Diego prior to the landing of Cabrillo in San Diego Bay in 1542.
Centrally located and only eight miles northeast of downtown San Diego, Mission Trails Regional Park provides a quick, natural escape from the urban hustle and bustle.

Mission Trails Regional Park has been called the third Jewel in the City of San Diego Park System. Along with Balboa Park and Mission Bay, it provides San Diego residents and visitors a way to explore the cultural, historical, and recreational aspects of San Diego.
Started in 1974, Mission Trails Regional Park has become one of the largest urban parks in the United States. Originally used by the Kumeyaay, the park is the site of the Old Mission Dam, built to store water for the Mission San Diego de Alcala.
