Oh….some good news.  This is one study we happen to agree with.  Published in the European Journal of Epidemiology, the study is an analysis of 16 studies involving more than 200,000 participants. Researchers found that people who drank about a pint of beer a day had a 31 percent reduced risk of heart disease.  So there you have it Beer – It’s good for you.

The Gaslamp Quarter is a 16½ block historical neighborhood in downtown San Diego. The name “Gaslamp Quarter” is a reference to the gas lamps that were common in San Diego in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The area is listed as a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places and includes 94 historic buildings. Its main period of development began in 1867, when Alonzo Horton bought the land in hopes of creating a new city center closer to the bay, and chose 5th Avenue as its main street.  The area now boast over 200 restaurants, bars, nightclubs and lounges, and countless boutiques, art galleries and shops. Learn universal partnering skills in a variety of freestyle couple dances from the 1840s through the 1940s, including many kinds of waltzes (most popular). You’ll also learn a few set dances and popular choreographies.

Dance to an eclectic mix of music, ranging from authentic period pieces to contemporary compositions. All ages and skill levels are welcome, with or without a partner.

Waltz & Such coordinates with the San Diego Vintage Dance Society to bring various live-music vintage balls, historic-themed dance events, performances, special workshops and master guest instructors to the community.
