Museum Month is back for the 23rd year in San Diego County. Presented by Macy’s, this popular event allows participants to enjoy half-off entry fees at 40 San Diego Museum Council member museums during the month of February.

Whether you’ve wondered about San Diego’s early beginnings or have an interest in the arts, sea life, culture, science, automotive or railroad history in San Diego, you’ll find a museum dedicated to you.  San Diego enjoys a rich heritage and melting pot citizenry, and we show that in our diverse and unique museums. The San Diego Museum Council created Museum Month in 1989 to promote awareness of the region’s museums, historical sites, educational institutes and cultural offerings. February is traditionally a slow month for museum goers, so the program is an benefits these local museums, who can draw in locals who might not otherwise visit, and for residents who can save up to $8 on admission and take advantage of the museums during off-peak season.

Museum Month Passes may be picked up starting February 1, 2012 at any of Macy’s fourteen locations in the San Diego Area, Temecula and Imperial Valley.  The passes are free to obtain while supplies last. With a pass, up to four visitors can gain admission to any of the 40 participating museums for half-price.  Plus, you can use the pass all month long!
