Although technically a peninsula, Coronado Island feels like a destination separate from San Diego. [...]

Coronado Island is quintessential small-town America, a world-class resort destination, and a Navy town with a relaxed Southern California beach atmosphere—something for everyone.

Jackrabbits inhabited Coronado until Elisha S. Babcock, Jr. and Hampton L. Storey purchased it in 1885 thinking it would be an ideal place for a luxurious hotel. They were right, Hotel del Coronado opened in 1888 and is now designated a National Historical Landmark. History is still part of daily life with over 85 historical sights on the island.

Coronado Island, technically a peninsula, is perfect for an adventure by foot or bicycle. Arrive in style at the Coronado Ferry Landing by San Diego Harbor Excursion’s ferry or water taxi or cross the Coronado Bay Bridge by car. The Coronado Ferry Landing has the perfect collection of shops, restaurants and art galleries, as well as the most magnificent views of the San Diego’s “toolbox” skyline and harbor.
Explore Coronado’s main thoroughfare, Orange Avenue, to grab a bite to eat, do some shopping, or attend a live theatre performance. Coronado’s compact size makes it a perfect town to explore by foot or bicycle. Rent a beach cruiser or a bicycle-built-for-two on which to tool around town. Cruiser King.
