Arizona Bike Week
Friday, April 5 to Sunday, April 14
The 17th annual 10-day event draws riders from all over the country and is making a name for itself in the motorcycle-rally world. The pre-rally days will run from April 5-9, at biker bars and motorcycle dealerships throughout the Valley. Bike Week kicks off April 5, with an all-day bash at the Hideaway Grill in Cave Creek, featuring food and drinks specials, giveaways and live music. From April 10-14, Cycle Fest will begin at Westworld of Scottsdale with charity rides and concerts each day until Sunday, April 14.
Other highlights include the second annual Blast-Off Party at Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale, hosted by Go Daddy founder Bob Parsons and featuring music from John Kay and Steppenwolf. Ride & Rock with Mogollon, hosted by Independent Motorcycles, stops at three biker bars and benefits Sounds of Autism, while Chopper John’s, Kimmy’z and Dirty Dogg Saloon host parties throughout the week.
Each ride has its own registration cost, and fees are less when participants pre-register online. Rides include the Peace Out Prostate Cancer Ride, Saddle Up For Kids Run for Camp Courage and the Crusaders For the Children “Child Empowerment Ride,” led by Ryan Hurst and Mark Boone Junior from the popular FX series “Sons of Anarchy.”
Bikers can purchase five-day event passes that include admission into all of the nightly concerts; acts include the Doobie Brothers, Third Eye Blind and Tonic. Ticket holders also have access to such on-site activities as stunt shows, a vendor area, the Miss Arizona Bike Week Pageant and demonstrations. Children are welcome during the day but are not encouraged to stay for the night-time events.
