Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Palm Springs 2013!

 Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this Saturday & Sunday March 16 & 17!

This religious holiday comSaint Patrick's Day, four leave clovermemorating St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, was first celebrated in this country in 1737 in Boston.  The festive celebration of Ireland’s culture includes rivers, fountains, roadways and parade routes turned green. Recognizable icons of the day are the three-leafed shamrock which, according to legend, is how St. Patrick explained the Trinity; the leprechaun, a Celtic fairy said to have a hidden pot of gold; and the blarney stone that, when kissed, gives the kisser persuasive eloquence (blarney). The Irish have borne their traditions everywhere they have populated and prospered.  As well as attending church services and parades, this is one of the busiest days of the year for bars and restaurants serving traditional corned beef and cabbage, Irish beer and Irish whiskey.  Remember to wear green so you don’t get pinched!
