Learn to kitesurf with SoCal Kitesurfing! Kitesurfing is an extreme sport that has grown quickly in the past decade. Harness the power of the wind as you glide across the water on a specially designed board.
Belmont Shore is the ideal area in Southern California for lessons, and the only Beach in LA/OC area where beginners are allowed. Spring and Summer are the best season due to consistent wind.
Choose from the following courses – SoCal Kitesurfing has something for every level of experience!
Discovery Lesson on Beach – 1 hr – $100
Lesson on the beach with small safe kites progressing to larger kites as you are ready. Learn the challenge and thrill of the kitesurfing kites. This is the introductory course to this magical sport in bare feet on the beach. Ages 9-99. No special strength or skill required, no wetsuit needed. You will be surprised how fun this course is. You will learn how to control the kite safely, starting with smaller kites and working to progressively larger kites as your skills develop. This course begins 10:30A.M., you can take the complete course starting at noon the same day if space is available.
Beginning Course – 3 hrs – IKO 1 – $200
Lesson starts on beach and moves to the water as you progress. You will have time to experience and master your skills with the full sized kitesurfing kites. You can safely progress to the water when ready with your instructor right next to you. This will be a great experience to feel and control the power of the larger kites. When ready for water, you will use the kite without the board and with your instructors help the kite can pull you like a dolphin in the water! Your instructor can take some photos or videos on this once in a lifetime experience. 2 students max, 3 hours, 12-3, or 3-6.
Intermediate Course – 3 hrs – IKO 2 – $200
Learn how to get up and ride the kiteboard on windpower! Now you are kiteboarding! This is very tricky but the instructor will break this down into small steps in the appropriate order to make riding possible for most anyone. Most ride in this lesson and move on to buy their own gear. Our hands-on approach is fast, safe, and most successful. As a graduate of SoCal Kitesurfing you will be welcome to set up in our spot and get some ongoing support from our school and introduction to our kite clubs, trips, gear deals, and kite community. 2 students max, 3 hours, 12-3, or 3-6.
Complete Course to Ride Beg+Int – 6 hrs – $350
Save $50 when you commit to learning the sport and book the Beginning and Intermediate Courses together. Can be done all in one day or in two 3 hours sessions as you prefer. A great idea for yourself or for a friend as a gift certificate!
Complete Course for 2 friends – 6 hours – $250 ea.
Save $300 when you take the Complete Course to Ride together with a friend! If you can come together its super fun and really a great deal! Don’t wait these fill up fast.
